GUS Vertical Axis Wind Turbines
Photo of the 5 KW unit located on Esther's Island. A small Island off the coast of Nantucket. The pole is 12' tall the turbine has a height of 7' and 27" diameter. The entire unit height is 19' tall. Please see video link below.
These are easier to site than the big 3 bladed units and will operate regardless of wind direction. They also start generating power at 5 mph wind speed. The 3 bladed units need over 10 mph to start to generate power. These units are low cost and easy to install.
